UK City of Culture - Commiserations from Bright Space

Last night the UK's first City of Culture was announced. The accolade went to Londonderry, who pipped Birmingham, Sheffield and Norwich to the post.

Commenting on the result, Deborah Kermode, Director at Bright Space said: 'We're disappoitned for Birmingham, however the bid has brought great optimism to the creative, cultural and business sectors in the city, which has galvanised those relationships for the future. Added to this, Birmingham now has an exciting and ambitious cultural strategy that will ensure communities have the opportunity to engage and enjoy what the city has to offer.'
